For months, my sister and I knew that our father needed to move into a supportive housing residence. However, he was not yet ready to entertain the thought of leaving his home. One day, I received a terrible phone call. My father had a stroke - and was in his bed for two days before anyone found him. Remaining in his home was no longer an option.
Families are faced with an enormity of decisions when a loved one can no longer do the things he or she once could. Whether it is moving out of the family home or simply finding new ways to do the things they once loved, aging is hard on the body and can be emotionally trying.
I help seniors, their families and businesses ensure that the quality of life for our aging population is handled with care, respect and consideration. Seniors and their families come to me to help them make the right choices in respect to living and care. I also work with local businesses, providing insight and training to make their products and services more senior-friendly to accommodate the changing needs of customers as they age.
I founded Seniors Consulting because I have a passion to help seniors maintain the best quality of life possible. The biggest unknown for families lies in knowing the right questions to ask and things to consider. This is where I come in. I know what to look for, what to evaluate and how to manage transitions.
Together, we can improve life for each individual - making our communities stronger.
