Families often do not fully realize the emotional toll that life transitions have on everyone involved. There are many new phases that begin the moment you first realize that a move may be needed. The senior is often expected to do more for himself or herself than is physically or mentally possible. The family member responsible is often expected to know more than they actually do.
My skills assisting elderly seniors and families through the many phases of transition improve the process for everyone. Frustrations, overwhelming emotions, and stress can all be eased with a seniors consultant. I serve seniors and their families with compassion and genuine care for their well-being.
The services I provide can include any or all of the following:
Residence Needs:
- Identify which type of residence is best suited for the senior
- Coordinate and accompany the senior and family on tour of residences.
- Ensure all questions that need to be asked are covered and everyone is satisfied with answers
- Provide suggestions for downsizing belongings and help establish the seniors’ new home with safety and emotional factors in consideration
Emergency Care Needs:
- Serve as 24-hour emergency contact on a long-term basis for out of town family or on a short term for vacation or respite
- If called, I investigate thoroughly, inform the family immediately and provide recommendations for action based on the situation at hand
Long-Distance Care Coordinator:
- Regular physical presence for the senior to connect with
- Coordination and follow-up of ongoing care and needs for the senior
- Attend appointments and ask questions on behalf of the senior and family
- Proactively identify problems and provide recommendations
- Observe senior for physical and/or mental changes
- Detailed reporting back to the family regularly on any of the above
My strong involvement with the community has enabled me to build relationships with reputable businesses who provide care services. I can help you make informed decisions regarding any of the needs that may arise for your loved one.
